Informal Lunch on Climate Change with P-ACP group

On March 15th 2017, within the group of  P-ACP where Timor-Leste recently took over coordination for the second time since joining the ACP Group, the Embassy of RDTL Brussels organized and offered an informal lunch to discuss issues related to Climate Change.

This first technical meeting organized by Timor-Leste was attended by the Embassies of Samoa, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu but also representatives from the University of South Pacific (USP) – Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development (PaCE-SD), from the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat and from the European Union’s Pacific Technical and Vocational Education and Training Project based in the Fiji Islands, that were in Brussels to participate at an ACP meeting, and had the opportunity to join the lunch.

During lunch, several topics were discussed, among them existing projects on the field of climate change, namely awareness and training of young people.

Under the scope of Intra-ACP programming, there are projects and funds available for the Pacific Group. The Regional Indicative Program predicts the “Environment, climate change and resilience building” as one of the key sectors where funds should be channeled.
