104th Council of Ministers ACP

From 28 to 30 November 2016, HE Ambassador Francisco T. Cepeda participated in the 104th session of the ACP Council of Ministers.

The meeting was highly represented by the majority of Ministers responsible for ACP affairs. In addition to the issues related to the future of the Group post 2020 and matters related to the European Union, a number of other strategic issues were discussed, including:

  • Exchange of views on Brexit
  • Status of negotiations and implementations of EPAs (Economic Partnership Agreements)
  • Preparations for the meetings of the Trade Ministerial Committee and the Joint Trade Ministerial Committee (ACP-EU)

The following decisions and resolutions were also adopted:

  • Future of the ACP group
  • Support the Claim of the sovereignty of Mauritius over the Chagos Archipelago
  • ACP Information Center on South-South and Triangular Cooperation in Malabo
  • Guidelines on natural disasters in an ACP state
  • Budget of the ACP Secretariat for fiscal year 2017
